Another great year of cheering for the Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Basketball games. The Cheer Team has a great time supporting UA, leading school spirit, building life-long friendships and engaging in service for others.
We are very excited for the new season and have already been very involved with our program. We hosted our summer camp for the K-9 grade levels in June and had a great turnout.
UCA CAMP - Fontbonne University
We attended a Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) camp at Fontbonne University where the
team learned lots of new cheers, chants and stunts. Out of 12 teams and 450 campers, the team did an outstanding job. Only five teams received the spirit stick the first night and Ursuline was one of them.
Great job team. The team worked very hard and deserved it.
The fourth and final evaluation day the team received Superior ribbons for cheer and chant. We also received a trophy for Camp Champions for one of the Top Team Performers. We worked hard and as the team bonded they became even more successful. We also received a bid for Nationals in Dallas, Texas.
August 22nd we hosted a UCA Stunt Clinic. Three schools drove 2 to 4 hours
to come to Ursuline Academy and attend this clinic. The instructors always give an update
on their schools and recruit within the teams. The athletes were shown new and exciting
stunts and attempted many of them.Some will be seen throughout the year at games.
